Infrastructure

The Laboratory of Positron and Positronium hosts two radioactive source (²²Na) based positron beams. Both are equipped with state of the art cryogenic frozen rare gas moderation systems which convert the broad energy spectrum from the beta+ emitter to a mono energetic slow positron beam. While they regularly host fundamental research, they are also employed for the material characterisation with positrons. One beam line facilitates a surko type buffer gas trap for positron while the other is continous mode beam.
