While positrons have been studied extensively for defect assessment in semiconductors and metals it is the unpreceedend sensitivity to nano porous structures which offers unique and complementary information. With the positron being antimatter the way the information is gained is vastly different from existing techniques. Once interacting with a sample positrons act as dynamic local probes of the material. This provides insights to complex porous structures properties where other techniques only offer highly convoluted responses.
